Jeans are one of the fashion products that are well known and liked by many people. Not only men, many women also like this pants model.

Jeans can be used for many types of activities. Not a few also wear it when adventuring in the wild. However, many opinions think that this type of pants is forbidden to wear when climbing mountains.

Climbing and jeans are again a topic of discussion among nature tourism enthusiasts because of the death of three climbers on Mount Bawakaraeng, Makassar, South Sulawesi, last August 17 due to hypothermia.

Simultaneously, photos of the victim and his group mates circulated, some of whom appeared to be wearing jeans.

Heavy when worn

Jeans are made of a fairly heavy material. This will add to the burden and troublesome climbers. The weight of these pants will increase if exposed to water or sweat because they are difficult to dry.

Causes irritation

Jeans that are not flexible will limit the movement of joints and muscles when they contract. This can cause irritation of the groin or blisters due to the rough texture.

Absorb the cold

In addition to absorbing water quickly, products made from jeans can keep the cold air. If the cold is not immediately removed from your body, then you are more likely to develop hypothermia.

Jeans are not recommended for mountain climbing. Not only pants, products made from other jeans should not be used when hiking, including jeans jackets.

Instead of jeans, climbers can use materials that are easy to dry, flexible, comfortable to wear, and lightweight. Pants material that can be used when climbing a mountain is a product made of ripstop nylon and synthetic polyester.
